Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Ezeriq is an independent AI tool recommendation service operated by Avram Rosenberg-Whyte, trading as Ezeriq. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the service.

Privacy contact: hello@ezeriq.com

2. Information we process

When you use the search feature, we process the words you enter so that we can understand your goal and recommend relevant AI tools. You should avoid entering sensitive personal information unless it is genuinely necessary for your search.

We also process limited technical information needed to operate and protect the service, such as an IP address or similar network identifier used for rate limiting and abuse prevention.

We also collect limited first-party analytics about how Ezeriq is used. This may include search text, the results shown and their positions, match scores, selected search preferences or filters, clicks on tool details or external tool links, comparison actions, favourite actions, page paths and timestamps. We use this information to understand which tasks users are trying to complete, measure whether recommendations are useful and improve the service.

Our analytics events do not currently use a persistent analytics user identifier. We do not intentionally use the analytics system to identify individual visitors or build advertising profiles.

Favourites are stored locally in your browser. They are not currently tied to an account and are not intended to be stored in our own user database. We may record aggregate favourite actions, such as when a tool is added to or removed from favourites, without attaching a persistent analytics user identifier.

3. How search requests are processed

Search requests are sent to our server and then processed using the OpenAI API so that the request can be classified into relevant categories and capabilities. The returned classification is used by Ezeriq to rank tools in our own database.

We do not currently ask OpenAI to choose or rank the products shown to you. The final recommendation ranking is performed by our own application logic using the structured intent returned by the API.

4. Rate limiting and security

We use Upstash Redis and Upstash Ratelimit to reduce abuse, protect the service and help prevent excessive automated requests. This may involve processing an IP address or similar identifier for a limited period as part of rate-limit and security controls.

5. Our purposes and legal basis

Where UK data-protection law applies, we primarily rely on our legitimate interests to provide, secure and maintain the service, understand search requests and how the service is used, evaluate the usefulness of recommendations, improve Ezeriq, prevent misuse and protect our systems. We aim to process only the information reasonably necessary for those purposes.

6. Service providers

We currently use third-party service providers to operate the service, including OpenAI for search-intent processing and Upstash for Redis-based rate limiting. Hosting and deployment providers may also process limited technical information when the site is publicly deployed.

These providers process information under their own contractual and privacy arrangements. Some processing may take place outside the United Kingdom. Where required, appropriate safeguards should apply to international transfers.

7. Retention

We aim not to keep personal information for longer than necessary for the purposes described in this policy. Rate-limiting and infrastructure providers may retain limited technical information in accordance with their own service settings and retention practices.

Ezeriq stores first-party analytics events in our database for service measurement and improvement. These events may include the search text and interaction information described above. We will review analytics retention as the service develops and aim not to keep this information for longer than reasonably necessary.

Separately, Ezeriq may log token-usage statistics for operational monitoring. Full search text is not intended to be written to general application logs merely for token-usage monitoring.

8. Cookies and local storage

We do not currently use advertising cookies or third-party analytics cookies. Ezeriq uses a strictly necessary session cookie to secure access to administrative features. The site also uses browser storage for features such as saving favourite tools.

Ezeriq also uses first-party server-side analytics to record the search and interaction events described in this policy. Our current analytics implementation does not create or store a persistent analytics identifier in your browser. Favourite storage is used to provide the favourites feature rather than to identify you for analytics.

If we introduce advertising, third-party analytics, accounts or other technologies that require additional notices or consent, we will update this policy and introduce appropriate controls where required.

9. Links to third-party AI tools

Ezeriq contains links to third-party websites and services. If you leave our site and use another provider, that provider's own privacy policy and terms apply. We are not responsible for how third-party services process information after you leave Ezeriq.

For some supported services, Ezeriq may create a link that pre-fills a contextual version of your request on the third-party service. Clicking such a link sends the text contained in that URL to the destination service.

10. Your data-protection rights

Depending on the circumstances, UK data-protection law may give you rights including access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection and data portability. You may also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office.

To exercise a right or ask a privacy question, contact us using the privacy email shown at the top of this policy.

11. Children

Ezeriq is a general-purpose tool-discovery service and is not designed to collect personal information from children. Users should not submit unnecessary personal or sensitive information in search requests.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the service changes. The latest version will be published on this page with an updated date.
